There are several types of periodontal conditions that affect the tissues around teeth, so provision of an opinion regarding the type of condition and management options is service number one.

The most common periodontal condition is an inflammatory condition of chronic periodontitis and the treatment ranges from a course of scaling and root planing (deep gum cleaning) to periodontal surgery.

Once chronic periodontitis is stabilised, ongoing care is provided to ensure good long-term stability. This part of the treatment is often achieved in conjunction with your dentist or a hygienist.

To treat periodontal disease several non-surgical options are available to prevent tooth loss, including professional scaling and root planing (deep gum cleaning), antiseptic therapy and home maintenance routine.

Surgical periodontal therapy is basically surgical access to the gum and bone to debride inflamed tissue and sometimes applying regenerative products to enhance healing and replacing damaged tissues. Procedures also include exposure of crowns of unerupted teeth to allow proper development of the tooth and removal of soft tissue lumps, swellings or lesions from gums to assess for pathological change.

When there is bone loss or gum ligaments loss around teeth as a result of gum disease, regeneration of some or all of the lost soft and hard tissues can be accomplished by regenerative procedures.

A variety of materials and techniques have been developed to stimulate growth in the remaining bone and other periodontal tissues. This process is often performed in conjunction with periodontal flap surgeries.

We specialise in the surgical placement of dental implants to provide a fixture for new teeth, bridges or other dental structures to be built. In unfortunate events of tooth/teeth loss, owing to periodontal factors, decay or trauma, implants provide a durable, functional and aesthetic replacement option.

Peri-implantitis is characterised by inflammation in the peri-implant mucosa and progressive loss of supporting bone. We offer prevention of peri-implant inflammation, which is carried out as part of regular periodontal assessments and, if necessary, management of the inflammation should it be allowed to develop.

Soft tissue grafting is a procedure to reduce gingival recession. It is a form of periodontal surgery in which a periodontist removes healthy gum tissue and uses it to build the gum back up where it has receded.

Frenectomy refers to the procedure where muscle tension is reduced or modified in soft tissue selected sites connected to the lips and gums.

Crown lengthening is used to lift the gums for aesthetics or functional reasons such as enabling better restorations to be placed.

We provide the very best outcomes by adopting a collaborative approach with your dentist and /or other specialists including prosthodontist, doctor, oral and maxillofacial surgeons etc.
